“My Mum has now been at Pine Lodge for three years and has been drifting into more acute dementia during this time. She requires considerably more day-to-day hands-on care than at the time she first went to live there. The staff take great care of mum’s personal hygiene and she is always looking clean and tidy. I cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness and compassion. Every staff member takes the time to have a little chat with mum (and me) when passing and I can see how important and uplifting this is for mum. The management and admin team are equally kind and professional. They are responsive and helpful and always listen and help with any queries I may have about mum’s well being and care. Even though the restrictions of the past two years have been difficult, everything Pine Lodge has done has been with the utmost professionalism. It is to their credit that they’ve got residents, staff and visitors through the pandemic without mishap.”

“It’s hard to fault Pine Lodge. All staff are conscientious and kind to residents in their care. My Mum, who has been a resident for 18 months, is treated with consideration, dignity and respect. Her clinical needs have been thoroughly assessed and managed as matters arise. She has recently been taken for a dental appointment, which is service above the terms of our contract. It feels like nothing is too much trouble or time-consuming. I have been treated with similar professionalism and had any questions or concerns addressed. The home is clean and maintained to a high standard. It is a pleasant and comfortable place to visit. In warm weather, it is a delight to sit with Mum in the garden. The staff do their best to coordinate activities to stimulate and interest the residents. In an ideal world, there might be more but for the money charged and the staff available, this is probably asking a little much. Pine Lodge’s management of the past few months (Covid) has been outstanding.”

They have always made me very welcome and take time to explain my dad’s care and listen to any concerns I have. I am consulted quickly when emergencies arise and feel I am able to take active decisions with the staff where necessary. I am convinced that the care he has received, particularly through the Covid pandemic, has resulted in him still being with us and am grateful that I can rely on him being in safe hands.”

“The care that my grandmother receives is outstanding and I cannot fault them in any way, especially with COVID-19, the staff have been very informative and also very safe. I live away and whenever I’ve contacted the staff for various reasons they have always been very supportive.”

“The care you provide mum is excellent. You are a ‘home’ not just a residential home. You are like one big family which has been vital during the restrictions and lockdowns as we have not been able to visit. You have kept everyone safe during this time. Our family are assured that mum is being looked after and her needs are being met. Mum can voice her opinions easily so we know she is happy being cared for by you. We have missed joining in with all the fetes and events in 2020 which you organise so well. We also miss the scrummy cakes that you provide. The food is excellent, we have eaten with mum on many occasions. The only issue we have is the problem with the telephone reception in Mum’s room. We cannot always speak to her when she is not feeling well enough to go to where the reception is better. We understand that this is being looked into. Your staff are so dedicated and caring and we thank you all.”

“My late mother was a resident at Restgarth for 4-years and 8-months, until her death earlier this month. The care she received during this time has been second to none. Restgarth is always clean, well maintained and homely. The staff are kind, caring and cheerful, which must have been challenging during the last 12-months. Visiting over this time has made the resident’s safety and wellbeing a priority. Communication between the relatives of residents and staff has been excellent. We have always been made welcome. Food is nourishing, appetising, well cooked and presented. In my experience, end of life care was given sensitively, calmly and professionally. Thank you.”

“The staff are all very nice and welcoming, polite on the phone at all times. My mother-in-law arrived as we were going into the first lockdown when things were difficult as there was no visiting, however, things soon settled down for all the family. Over time, my mother-in-law’s mobility has deteriorated, the home has pulled out all the stops enabling her to overcome her anxiety and has given her encouragement which includes her receiving the correct professional help such as a physiotherapist etc and organising equipment to assist her. I know she enjoys the food as it is all cooked on the premises, she also likes the activities on offer, especially the music morning. She is very happy at Pine Lodge. I personally have a very good relationship with the staff they are all extremely kind, caring and compassionate.”
